Well, my kid’s sewing classes spring/summer term finished last week in Cardiff and this term has been a busy one!
Our class of ten young sewers have been mixing up hand sewing with machine stitching, designing and creating small scale projects right through to fashioning a wearable item which this term were shorts!
Learning sewing skills is the prime objective of our Chapter Sewcials however, the spin off benefits are manifold and every class has elements of thinking outside the box and problem solving; I am adamant that underpinning creativity are a host of practical skills including measuring, maths and verbal communication which are key to developing competent and awe inspiring sewers!
Our next 10 week term starts 27th September and I’m pleased to say that Chapter are supporting a beginners course as well as an intermediate class..wohoo!
The beginners class for age 8-12 runs from 1.30-3pm and the intermediate (or the ‘not so new’) runs 3.30-5pm.
If you have a youngster that loves drawing, designing then why not sign them up. Places can be booked through Chapter Box Office on (0)29 2030 4400.
